A look at some of the best club venues across the world and what they have to offer.
Nearly everyone has had the horrifying moment where you have paid to get in to a club and then you realize how terrible it is. Poor music, terrible atmosphere, the dreaded sticky floors, we've all been there but what makes a club good?
Firstly the clientele are a big part of that which is why you will see the security on doors of clubs all over the world stopping people who might look a little worse for wear, who might not be adhering to the club dress code or who might be a bit boisterous which could lead to trouble.
There are obviously a great deal of clubs available to marauding groups of stag and hen parties offering cheap drink promotions to drag customers in off the street but the kind of clubs we will be looking at rely on their reputation as the place to be seen. These clubs are the kind of places that you feel privileged to gain entry rather than the kind of places that have promoters handing out flyers.
The following clubs are widely recognized as being some of the best in the world and though it may not always be easy to get entry, it is always worth the effort.
In Berlin, sits an old factory that could be a villains lair from Batman but it actually houses one of the best clubs in the world and a mecca for techno and house fans. Berghain see’s people waiting for hours in queues that can stretch considerable distances to then face the strict door policy, you could be waiting for hours to be turned away without explanation. If you are lucky enough you are greeted by a cavernous interior that looks every bit its ex factory, while the bass beats so hard you can feel it echo in your soul. This club is a must for the European clubber.
If you are visiting Ibiza you will have you pick of world famous clubs and Amnesia is just one of them. Starting out in the 70’s as one of Ibiza’s first outdoor clubs it is now one of the most popular despite gaining a roof over the years.
With the World Cup just around the corner Brazil is keen to put any fears around stadium construction and infrastructure to one side and one way to do that is with DJ Mag’s club of 2013, Greeny Vally. Found in Camboriu the club boasts the atmosphere that any club strives for and will undoubtedly spawn many great stories for those visiting in 2014.
While the saying goes “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” the Tao Beach Club is definitely something that people will talk about. The 3000 capacity venue boasts an outdoor beach club complete with pool and is a must for any Las Vegas trip.
These are just some of the best clubs to look out for but it goes without saying that there are a great many more to explore. Whether you want to see the best DJ’s, sit back with a nice Midori cocktail or party until the early hours of the morning the venues are out there you just need to go and find them.
